From April 1 to 14, 2025, the first all-drone photography exhibition in Bulgaria – “Bulgaria From Up High” will be held at the Contrast Gallery in Sofia. This exhibition presents our country in a way that we rarely have the opportunity to see – from a bird’s eye view.
The exhibition is the work of 17-year-old Konstantin Kirilov, who has been involved in drone photography for three years. Inspired by the beauty and diversity of Bulgarian nature, he captures the magic of mountains, rivers, and historical landmarks through the lens of his drone
The idea behind “Bulgaria From Up High”
According to Mr. Kirilov, drone photography allows us to rediscover Bulgaria in a new, incredible way. The author’s goal with his exhibition is to encourage more Bulgarians to travel and get to know their country.
Where and when?
The exhibition will open on April 1st at 6:00 PM and will be available until April 14th at the Contrast Gallery in Sofia. All photography and art lovers are invited to visit it. For schools and universities, there is a possibility for organized group visits, and those interested can contact the author for more information.

The photo shows the beauty of Cape Kaliakra during the summer months. It is due to the contrast in the color of the sea – on the right side the water is significantly lighter than on the left. In addition, the sunset envelops the right side of the cape with golden light, emphasizing the relief and giving additional depth to the frame. These details turn the view into a real natural phenomenon.
The photo captures the iconic Kopitoto TV Tower. Taken in October, it depicts a powerful sunset, the bright colors and shapes of which resemble an explosion in the sky. The fiery hues create a striking contrast with the relief of the mountain, and in the distance the silhouettes of other mountain ranges stretch, adding depth to the frame. This scene not only reveals the majesty of nature, but also gives the familiar landscape a new, almost surreal vision.
The photo shows the Belogradchik Rocks in all their autumn beauty. The different colors – orange, green and yellow – create a colorful contrast that makes the landscape even more impressive. The rock formations stand out among the autumn forest, and the view from above reveals the beauty and scale of this unique place.
The photo shows Musalensko Lake, taken in September, surrounded by the impressive rock massif. Its dark blue surface emphasizes the harsh beauty of the high mountain landscape, and in the upper right corner a slight mist creeps in, giving a mystical atmosphere. This view reveals the grandeur of Rila and the feeling of untouched nature.
